I realize this question was posted over a year ago, however, I'll put this up in case others open this topic now as I did. We have given away logo'd little earth-friendly spiral notebooks - everyone loves them and they remain in the hands of customers long after the trade show. We've also done small jute trade show "survival bags" with floss; organic hand sanitizer, stain remover, odor neutralizer, and logo'd lip balm.

We think Promotional Bags are a great idea for the discussed situation. They leave a long lasting impression for all to see and they can be reused time and time again. If you are looking for something a little different try printing something that will really stand out on the side of your bags, to grab people’s attention. They are very affordable promotional item in the current climate.

It all depends on your target audience. If your promo items aren't consistent with your brand identity then giving out any old promo items just won't do. T-shirts are always a unique giveaway and I'm finding that custom tote bags are quickly becoming very popular, these are items potential customers will continue to use long after the trade show is over.

Anti stress toys are a great giveaway, provide some humor to your potential customers and also giving you the added advertising bonus of course! Promotional Confectionery is a shorter term branding option as well especially good for taking home for the kids!

Hi Michele

One thing we pride ourselfs on is coming up withs ideas to ensure that our clients stands get the most traffic available when attending trade shows or exhibitions. The key is to have a few different items for give aways and then a hand full of expensive ones. The cheap plastic pens seem to be collected by everyone but thats good because thats what they are for, then you have an item which is slighty more expensive and related to your industry i.e stress van or van shaped notepad if your a courier/haulage firm then the most expensive item is saved for people that you feel are really worth it. Plus we have other ideas on how to give these out whilst generating maximum exposure for your stand and your company making you center of attention. If you need any help or advise please contact me and I would be happy to help.

Dear Michele,
The best thing i can suggest is, a pendrive.
it will be a good companion to each and everybody nowadays. plus if you have your logo on it it will make an impression when ever he looks on it. it will serve them a lot and make them remember his visit to your stall.
Its sugest a suggetion... there r many options...

cheers!

I think it's all about what the customer can actually use, and it has to be something unique that builds your branding. For example, a pen with your logo on it is pretty useless, but you could hand-out promotional items like many that Mark has mentioned. One of the coolest I've come across was a light reader that flipped out and grew longer all by itself. I think this shows that uniqueness and functionality is key with promotional items!

The best give away I ever received was a huge Hershey chocolate bar with a bow on it and a message that said something like "for a sweet deal call us". It was from a car dealer ship.
